SimpleDB Management Tools is a Microsoft Visual Studio plug-in designed to help users work with Amazon SimpleDB instances directly from Visual Studio. It is compatible with the 2008 and 2010 versions of the Microsoft IDE.
With this software installed, you will be able to connect to SimpleDB instances from the Visual Studio Server Explorer and perform a wide range of operations. It will allow you to query data, add, edit and delete domains as well as attributes.
Once the installation process has been completed, you just need to open Visual Studio and make sure the Server Explorer is visible. When adding a new connection, you should be able to select Amazon SimpleDB as a data source.
When everything is up and running, you will be able to execute queries within Visual Studio using the standard Amazon SimpleDB syntax. Of course, you can also add or delete data, Simple DB domain objects, and attributes.
Two separate editions of the plug-in are available for Visual Studio 2008 and 2010 users. If you run into any issues during the setup process or while using the software, you can go ahead and consult the video tutorial provided on the product’s homepage, as it includes helpful explanations.
