Are only tech companies considered startups?

In my exploration of the startup landscape, I've found that startups aren't exclusive to the tech industry. Yes, we often hear about tech startups because of their high-profile nature, but startups can emerge in any industry, from food services to fashion. It's really about a new company trying to launch an innovative product or service, usually under conditions of uncertainty. So no, not all startups are tech-based. There's a wonderfully diverse world of startups out there, spanning across multiple industries.
